Qatar Airways launched daily non-stop flights from Hamad International Airport to Hamburg Airport

NewsQatar Airways’ marked the launch of daily non-stop flights from Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, Qatar, to Hamburg Airport (HAM) in Germany. Along with Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, and Munich, Hamburg now serves as Qatar Airways' fifth German destination, accommodating the market's high demand. Compared to the previous year, the number of passengers departing Germany increased by 62% in 2023, according to the World's Best Airline (Skytrax 2024).
The new route expands the airline's global route network to more than 170 destinations, facilitating easy travel from northern Germany to Doha and other locations. It also increases international accessibility to Hamburg, a global city.
Additionally, the route facilitates commercial and economic ties between the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and northern Germany. In comparison to last year, the flights are predicted to provide Hamburg's freight sector with an increase of up to 11%.
Head of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce Dr. Malte Heyne, CEO of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, CEO of Visit Qatar Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi, CEO of Qatar Airways Thierry Antinori, German Ambassador to the State of Qatar H.E. Lothar Freischlader, and First Mayor of Hamburg Dr. Peter Tschentscher welcomed the inaugural flight on the ground on July 1.
