Qatar Airways has landed its debut flight to Lyon, France, with the new direct service operated by a Boeing 787-8 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. This new route strengthens Qatar Airways' footprint in France while also expanding its worldwide network to more than 160 destinations.
Passengers were welcomed with traditional French delicacies and a customised menu featuring excellent French food in both the excellent and Economy Cabins.
M. Pierre Grosmaire, Director of Commercial and Marketing at Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport, and Qatar Airways Vice President of Sales, Europe, Mr. Eric Odone, greeted the maiden flight from Doha.
Lyon is Qatar Airways' third French destination, with the carrier already serving Paris and Nice. It is widely regarded as France's gastronomic centre, with several Michelin-starred restaurants. The lovely city also draws film buffs due to its history as the cradle of filmmaking.
