Qatar asserted that its National Vision 2030 for development aims to establish an effective social protection system

The State of Qatar stated that its National Vision 2030 for development aims to establish an effective social protection system that primarily safeguards citizens' rights, increases their participation in developing the community, achieving its renaissance, and ensuring a decent standard of living that ensures dignity and health for all.

This was stated by Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mansoori, Third Secretary of the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar in Geneva, during the second part of the Annual Full-Day Discussion on the Human Rights of Women-Panel 2: Social Protection: Women's Participation and Leadership, as part of the 53rd Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

According to Al Mansoori, the social protection system, which is guaranteed to all citizens in the State of Qatar, consists of social security services provided by the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), employment services for social security beneficiaries, and professional services provided by Qatar Social Work. He emphasised the specific attention paid to Qatari women within the scope of this system, citing the Social Security Law of 1995, as well as other decisions and legislation, which established explicit rights for women in the retirement and pension system, housing services, and other areas.

Al Mansoori highlighted that the State of Qatar has focused on promoting opportunities for full access to good education and its continuity in the context of popular engagement of Qatari women in the civil service, labour market, and leadership positions, and that the country has provided training opportunities to bolster and build capacities.

The Third Secretary of the State of Qatar's Permanent Delegation in Geneva stated that the State of Qatar has appointed three female ministers, namely the Minister of Public Health, the Minister of Education and Higher Education, and the Minister of Social Development and Family, as well as electing a Qatari woman to the position of Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council. He also stated that Qatari women have prominent diplomatic posts in the State of Qatar's embassies overseas, as well as membership in many UN committees and committees working in the field of human rights.
