The Qatar beach handball team, with their dominance in Asia and their 10th place finish in the Men's Beach Handball World Championships that concluded in Pingtan Island, China, yesterday, guaranteed their spot in the World Games for the following year.
A total of 3,600 athletes representing 100 countries are anticipated to compete in 34 events during the spectacular 12th edition of the World Games, which will be held in Chengdu, China from August 7–17, 2025.
Having won a silver medal in Birmingham, Alabama, the United States, two years ago, the six-time Asian champions Qatar will be participating in their fourth multi-sport tournament. Additionally, they placed fourth in their first-ever competition in 2013 and went on to win a bronze medal in Wroclaw, Poland in 2017.
In addition to the Games' hosts, Qatar and China, the men's beach handball competition at the World Games will feature competitions from Croatia, Denmark, Portugal, Germany, Brazil, and Tunisia for the top spot. In addition to the host country, Germany, Argentina, the Netherlands, Denmark, Vietnam, Spain, and Portugal will contend for the women's title.
