NewsQatar Rail and Stopover Tourism unveiled three brand-new sustainable city tours that make use of the metro system as a green means of transportation, in honour of World Tourism Day. This program is in line with Qatar's National Vision 2030, which places a high value on responsible growth and sustainability in the travel and tourism sector.
There are now three brand-new eco-friendly excursions available: The first, called Discover the City of Doha—by the Metro, allows tourists to discover ancient and modern sights by sustainable transportation. It includes famous locations including Westbay, Katara Cultural Village, the National Museum of Qatar, Msheireb Downtown, and Souq Waqif.
Aspire Dome, Aspire Park, Khalifa International Stadium, and Villagio Mall are just a few of the notable sports venues visited by participants on the second tour, Sports City: Doha's Athletic Wonders—by the Metro, which starts at Souq Waqif and highlights Qatar's sports infrastructure and commitment to sustainability.
The last trip, which takes place by the Metro and visits Education City and the Mall of Qatar, also starts in Souq Waqif. It goes to the Qatar National Library, Education City Mosque, and Education City Botanical Gardens before ending at the Mall of Qatar. At each destination, this journey combines education, culture, and pleasure with a focus on sustainability.
Award-winning guide Pia Sundstedt, who is renowned for her vast knowledge and capacity to craft captivating, culturally enlightening encounters, painstakingly planned each of these three trips.
