Qatar’s aviation sector is adopting the latest technologies and providing the best systems

NewsThe aviation industry in Qatar is using the newest technology and offering the greatest systems available. By doing this, the intended objective of creating a sustainable and safe civil aviation system that complies with the strictest international regulations will be met.
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has worked over the past several years to improve its skills and execute various plans and strategies by the development goals in the aviation industry in Qatar. In a recent issue of Qatar Sky magazine published by QCAA, Mohammed Al Muhamadi, Head of Development and Training at the Air Navigation Department, outlined the goals for certifying air traffic controllers as well as the primary adopted and certified training programs.
The QCAA has prioritised the training and qualification of national cadres, implementing a range of training programs designed to provide air traffic controllers with the skills and knowledge required to carry out their duties safely and effectively, adhering to the strictest national and international standards about air traffic control.
Al Muhamadi elaborated on the process for enhancing the current competencies in the Air Traffic Control Section, pointing out that it is done through several integrated mechanisms, such as ongoing training, the use of simulators for all scenarios, including emergency and exceptional cases, and a focus on crisis management in those situations.
In the area of air traffic control, there is also local and regional training available. Additionally, an attempt is being made to bring present controllers up to speed on the most significant contemporary air traffic management techniques and technology.
All of these systems are predicated on internationally acknowledged air traffic management standards and concepts.
