NewsAccording to the most recent data disclosed by Qatar Tourism, the nation received 317,000 tourists in July 2024. With this, the overall number of visits for the first seven months of 2024 is 2.956 million, up 26.2 percent from the same time the previous year.
More than four million tourists arrived in 2023—a record-breaking increase from 2.56 million in 2022. With more visitors visiting Qatar in the first seven months of this year than in any other year during the same time, the year is on course to break previous records.
Saudi Arabia continues to be the leading source nation, having sent 0.86 million tourists thus far this year. India came in second with 238,000 visits, and Bahrain came in third with 135,000 visitors. The US, UK, UAE, China, Kuwait, Oman, and Germany continued to be the other major supplier nations.
Out of all the foreign arrivals in July, 127,000 entered through the land border crossing with Saudi Arabia at Abu Samra, while 189,000 arrived by air.
According to industry analysts, there will be around 4.5 million visitors overall in 2024, and that figure will increase to 4.9 million by 2025. The country's tourist industry has grown rapidly as a result of the Hayya platform's easing and simplification of visit visa requirements. Citizens of 102 nations are granted visa-free entrance into Qatar; those from other nations can get an electronic visa by using the Hayya platform.
Another important industry that has evolved as Qatar seeks to diversify and expand its economy is tourism. The Third National Development Strategy 2024–2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030 serve as the foundation for the nation's tourism policies.
