QNB signs agreement with NPCI International Payments to enable QR code-based UPI merchant payments across Qatar

NewsThe largest bank in the Middle East and Africa, QNB, stated that it has signed a deal with NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) to allow merchant payments in Qatar using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and QR codes.
By enabling the acceptance of UPI payments through the QNB merchant network, this project represents a noteworthy milestone and will be of considerable assistance to Indian visitors and transitors through Qatar.
Thanks to this collaboration, Indian travellers will have the choice to pay at retail establishments, duty-free shops, travel destinations, leisure areas, and hotels using the method of their choice.
This cutting-edge payment method will have several advantages for local retailers in Qatar as well. Merchants may increase customer happiness by using UPI payments and providing a quicker and more simple checkout procedure.
