QU accepts 1,160 students for Spring 2023 semester; Qatari students making 70% of the total admission

Around 1,160 students were accepted into the Spring 2023 semester as announced by Qatar University (QU) and that Qatari students made up 70% of the total admission. Vice President for Student Affairs at QU, Dr. Eiman Mustafawi congratulated the accepted students, on the occasion, wishing them success in their university journey and calling on them to take advantage of all the educational and non-educational opportunities, offerings and resources available to them, in order to become active members of their community and country. 

Dr. Eiman also clarified that all applicants including new students, transfer students, as well as those entering their second bachelor’s degree, visiting students and non-degree applicants can view admission decisions through the university website.

Dr. Eiman added that admission to QU is competitive and that achieving the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, but rather, students are accepted into each college according to the capacity of each college. She also noted that students who were not accepted this semester could reapply in the upcoming Fall 2023 semester. 

Online orientation 

Director of Admissions, Lolwa Al-Rabeei said that the orientation for new students would be held online starting January 22 for all accepted students from all colleges. The students will be contacted via their email with details and links to the program platform. 

Lolwa Al-Rabeei pointed out that orientation provides students with the most important information, including key policies, services and academic expectations, stressing that attending and passing the program is mandatory for all students. Failing to complete the orientation program will cancel admission for the semester, and students would be required to re-apply the following semester.

The Spring 2023 semester will start on January 29 for all students, while the add/drop period ends on February 2, 2023.
