VCUarts Qatar announced a collaboration with MIA to launch Qatar’s inaugural museum escape room
21 May 2024
NewsThe first museum escape room in Qatar is set to open thanks to a partnership between Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar) and the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA). This creative initiative offers guests an immersive trip through the rich fabric of Islamic scholarship, representing a singular blend of art, history, and interactive entertainment.
Escape rooms are well known for being interactive spaces where guests must work through puzzles and interpret clues in a certain amount of time in order to "escape." The goal of MIA and VCUarts Qatar is to give visitors an engaging and dynamic experience focused on Islamic art and history by incorporating this concept into a museum setting.
The "Scholars of the Islamic World" are the central theme of the escape room, which has themed rooms for calligraphy, astronomy, Islamic science and inventions, and the preservation of Islamic artifacts.
As they make their way through these carefully planned areas, participants will solve mysteries and unearth secret information.
The escape room, which is intended for kids and their families ages 14 and older, will be located on the second floor of the MIA Education Wing. It opens on May 22 and closes on September 2. Reservations for The Escape Room can be made on the websites of Qatar Museum (qm.org.qa) and MIA. Group sizes range from eight to twenty members.
