27 Jun 2024
NewsThe World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), a Qatar Foundation project, today announced the opening of its 2024 Innovation Competition. Businesses and startups are invited to provide ground-breaking ideas that tackle the most pressing global health issues.
Applications are encouraged from incubation centre representatives as well as entrepreneurs in the health industry. Selected through a judging procedure, early- to mid-stage health-focused businesses and innovators will be granted an invitation to showcase at the esteemed WISH 2024 international healthcare summit, which is scheduled for November 13–14 at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha.
Two categories make up the WISH Innovation Competition: Young Innovators, which is open to health entrepreneurs with founders under 30 years old, and Innovation Showcases, which is open to health startups that have developed a presence in the market for up to five years after moving past the ideation stage. An investment award will be given to the winner in each category.
Submissions may highlight creative approaches to any aspect of healthcare, with a focus on digital health. Entries will be judged by the judging committee on their potential for development, impact, and innovation.
Key companion benefits of the WISH Innovation Award Programme, in addition to the investment award, include access to sessions with industry experts to learn about marketing, social media, presentation, and investor pitching; and networking opportunities with like-minded startups, health experts, investors, and local incubation centres.
The winners will also be invited to present their solutions at WISH 2024, an event that will include industry experts, investors, ministries, insurers, and healthcare providers.
The deadline for applications is July 15, 2024, and the innovators can apply here. The shortlisted projects will be announced by August 2024.
