11th edition of the Senyar Festival kicked off with 54 teams from Qatar and GCC countries

Fishing and pearl-diving events have begun for 54 teams from Qatar and the GCC countries as part of the 11th Senyar Festival, which is organized by the Cultural Village Foundation—Katara. 

In the hand-line fishing, called "Haddaq" in the local dialect, and pearl diving, called "Lifah," competitors would compete for rewards in categories such skill mastery and largest catch.

The committee previously declared that only 17 approved fish species could be caught. At the conclusion of the festival on Friday, the Katara beachfront will announce the winners.
