NewsThe 11th edition of the WISE Summit, which takes place at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) on November 28 and 29, is anticipated to draw more than 100 thought leaders, innovative educators, and inspirational youth leaders from across the globe. This year's conference, titled "Creative Fluency: Human Flourishing in the Age of AI," will highlight artificial intelligence (AI) and is being arranged by WISE, the Qatar Foundation's worldwide programme for education.
The conference will examine in detail how AI is affecting the global education scene. WISE 11 will address six thematic tracks—Classrooms of the Future, AI and Digital Sovereignty, Building Ethical AI, Rethinking Higher Education and Jobs in an AI-Driven World, Scaling for Equity and Access, and Systems Transformations—through more than 20 core sessions and a range of captivating experiential activities.
Participants will get the chance to hear from prominent voices in business, academia, and government on the opportunities and difficulties of integrating AI in education.
Keynote speakers include Luis Benveniste, Global Director of Education at The World Bank, Conrad Wolfram, European co-founder and CEO of The Wolfram Group, and HE Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education, Kazakhstan.
Notable educators will also be involved in WISE 11, providing a variety of viewpoints to help comprehend how AI affects learning environments. These include Walid Saba, Senior Principal Research Scientist at Northeastern University's Institute of Experiential AI, Isabelle Hau, Executive Director at Stanford Accelerator for Learning, Jeffrey Sachs, University Professor and Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, and Dr. Marc Owen Jones, Associate Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
Several young innovators in AI-centric solutions will also be present at this year's Summit: Kian Katanforoosh, CEO and co-founder of Workera, an online skills development platform; Pelonomi Moiloa, CEO and co-founder of Lelapa AI, an AI research and product lab focused on Africa; and award-winning social entrepreneur Zubair Junjunia, who founded ZNotes, an online learning platform that advances global education equity, at the age of sixteen.
This year's Summit will feature cutting-edge classroom sessions and immersive AI experiences in addition to well-liked elements including panel discussions, masterclasses, policy roundtables, live podcasts, and the Youth Studio. Participants will be able to interact directly with the newest AI technology during these sessions. Additionally, through social activities, interactive lounges, and specific networking zones, participants will have the chance to meet new people and develop lasting relationships. Nina Schick, the founder of Tamang Ventures Limited and one of the earliest specialists in GenAI, will give the keynote talk during the Opening Plenary.
The Closing Plenary will feature a speech by Aidan White, an expert in worldwide media who founded the Ethical Journalism Network. Additionally, HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, the Minister of Education and Higher Education of Qatar, will also speak.
