01 Nov 2024
NewsTwelve inventors have been selected for two prizes in the 2024 WISH Global Healthcare Innovation Competition by the Qatar Foundation-led World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH).
These innovators, who were chosen from over 150 applicants, will present their ground-breaking ideas to world leaders in healthcare and policy at this year's conference in Doha on November 13 and 14.
Shortlisted innovators will have access to mentorship sessions with industry professionals to learn about marketing, social media, presenting, and pitching to investors, in addition to the chance to win one of two $10,000 investment awards.
This year's competition is being presented in collaboration with the Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council (QRDI).
The competition award committee will declare a winner in each of the two prize categories: "Young Innovators" and "Innovation Showcases" at the WISH closing event on November 14.
Health firms with founders under 30 years old are the only ones eligible for the "Young Innovators" category. The Young Innovators competition has selected seven applicants for further consideration.
The "Innovation Showcases" category is ideal for health firms that have advanced past the ideation stage and made a name for themselves in the market within the last five years.
