2024 Global Person-Centered Care Forum; HMC’s Ambulatory Care Center was awarded Gold Certification

NewsHamad Medical Corporation (HMC) attended the 2024 Global Person-centred Care Forum, which was hosted by Planetree International, in New Orleans, USA. Dr. Nidal Asaad, the CEO and medical director of Heart Hospital, Dr. Huda Hussain Saleh, the executive director of the Women's Wellness and Research Centre (WWRC), and Nasser Al Naimi, the chief of patient experience at HMC and director of the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute, led the team from Qatar.
Gold Certification with Distinction for Leadership and Innovation in Person-centred Care was given to HMC's Ambulatory Care Centre (ACC) by Planetree during the Forum. The first of five HMC facilities—the others being the Enaya and Daam Specialised Care Centre, Private Nursing Services, Home Healthcare Services, and the Communicable Disease Center—to be recertified for excellence in PCC is ACC. With this accomplishment, ACC is now the first location in the area and the fifth globally.
TEn HMC employees were honoured with Fellowship in Person-centred Care. The Women's Wellness and Research Centre (WWRC) won the PCC Best Poster Awards for "Reducing Pre-Operative Waiting Time in Daycare Surgery in ACC" and "Enhancing Patient Experience through Comprehensive Healthcare Access and Support Service Personalised Care" as well as the PCC Innovation Award for the use of triage-colored cards in the WWRC Emergency Department.
HMC leaders received additional individual awards, such as the Spirit of Planetree Award for Dr. Huda Hussain Saleh, Executive Director of WWRC, and Nadya Al Rauili, Executive Director of Private Nursing Services and Home Healthcare Services, for their individual contributions to cultural change and commitment to humanising the care experience. Nasser Al Naimi was honoured for his development of Person-centred Care in Qatar.
