NewsQatar Railways Company (Rail) revealed that the total number of passengers using the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks from December 11 to 18, 2024, including the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024 and National Day celebrations, was about 1.67 million. During this time period, there were around 1.6 million Metro passengers and approximately 70,000 Tram riders.
The Doha Metro's busiest day during this period was December 18, 2024, with roughly 363,517 passengers using the network's 37 stations, with the busiest stations being Lusail QNB, Souq Waqif, and Katara.
First- and last-mile services like Metrolink and Metroexpress were essential in order to facilitate passenger mobility to stadiums, activation areas, and important destinations.
Metrolink served 30 metro stations with 61 routes, while Metroexpress continued to serve 10 metro stations and 12 tram stations.
According to the firm, the "Park and Ride" amenities at a number of metro stations also lessened the need for private vehicles by enabling users to park their cars and take the metro to escape traffic jams.
