NewsThe Art Mill Museum, another addition to Qatar Museums, is slated to open its doors in 2030. It will provide a distinctive fusion of outstanding collections and architectural innovation, but it will be more than just a museum housing artwork; rather, it seeks to establish a dynamic relationship between the building and the public, encouraging visitors to interact with the architectural marvel.
The museum, which will feature diverse works stretching from 1850 to the present, will be situated within an old flour mill that has been converted near the Old Doha Port along Corniche.
The Art Mill Museum is the latest in a long line of repurposed buildings in Qatar that stand for the nation's dedication to both innovation and cultural preservation.
2014 saw the conversion of the Fire Station, originally the Civil Defence Building, into a modern art venue that encourages public participation and innovation.
Liwan Design Studios and Labs, in addition to The Ned Doha, are prime examples of Qatar's embracing of adaptive reuse, revitalising historic buildings.
