Ashghal’s Roads Projects Department claimed eight international safety awards for the Local Areas Infrastructure Program projects in 2023

NewsFor the fourth year running, the Local Areas Infrastructure Programme projects managed by the Public Works Authority's (Ashghal) Roads Projects Department (RPD) won eight worldwide safety awards from the British Safety Council in 2023.
The first-place International Safety Award with Distinction in this category went to the Roads and Infrastructure Project in Umm Salal (Package 1).
Roads and infrastructure in Al Wajba East (Packages 1 & 3) with one nomination, in Al Mearad and Southwest of Muaither (Package 3), in Jeryan Nejaima, in Semaisma Village (Package 1), in Um Slal Ali, in Um Ebairiya Village, in South Um Al Amad, and in North Bu Fessela (Package 1), are the other five projects that received the International Safety Award with Merit.
Additionally, the International Safety Award was given to the Bu Samra Border Crossing Project and the Roads and Infrastructure Project in Al Mearad and Southwest of Muaither (Package 2).
These eight prizes, which the Authority received from the Council, will be added to the nine it won in 2022, the four it won in 2021, and the three it won in 2020 for projects involving new and existing citizen subdivisions.
The International Safety Awards programme has honoured international organisations for their dedication to reducing workplace accidents and occupational diseases for the past 65 years. The International Safety Awards' impartial judging panel assesses these organisations.
