Central Municipal Council elections will be held on June 22; Voter registration will take place from April 30

The Central Municipal Council (CMC) elections will take place on June 22, 2023, in accordance with Amiri Decree No. 28 of 2023.

Voter registration will take place from April 30 to May 4, 2023, for the 7th CMC elections.

The final voter list will be made public on May 21, and candidate nomination will take place from May 21 to May 25.  

On May 28, the primary list of candidates will be released. Candidate complaints will be accepted from May 28 to June 5 and resolved from May 29 to June 8.

The election campaign will start with the announcement of the final candidate list on June 11. On June 22, 2023, voters will choose the 7th Central Municipal Council (CMC).

These specifics were discussed yesterday in a Qatar TV programme featuring various authorities and experts to talk about the most recent CMC election developments. 

Participating in the programme "The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Licencing and Advertisement Department, in coordination with the Supervisory Committee for CMC election, is responsible for issuing permits for advertisements to candidates," said Mohammed Al Emadi, Head of the Advertisement Unit in Doha Municipality.

The Al Rayyan Municipality's Director of Technical Affairs, Khalifa Muhammad Al Khayarin, outlined the regulations governing election-related marketing.

According to him, candidates must abide by advertisement regulations that govern the CMC elections into ensureheir advertisements do not upset others.

"An authorised advertising business will run the adverts for the CMC election campaigns. According to Al Khayarin, it will be done through an authorised advertising platform.
