Daily operations by Japan Airlines, linking Tokyo Haneda Airport with Hamad International Airport commenced on March 31

Japan Airlines has started operating daily flights between Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Qatar and Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) in Japan, the airport has announced. 

The first-ever journey to the Middle East by a Japanese airline, operated on March 31, 2024, using a Boeing 787-9 aircraft with 203 seats, is a historic occasion in the aviation industry. The airport's position as a key oneworld hub is further cemented with the addition of Japan Airlines as the tenth oneworld carrier, offering top-notch services and connectivity to more than 190 passenger destinations. 

It is anticipated that the launch of direct flights by Japan Airlines to Doha will increase demand for travel and strengthen commercial relations between Qatar and Japan.
