Director of M7, a centre for fashion, design, and technological innovation in Qatar, Maha Ghanim Al Sulaiti, has garnered attention for herself by appearing in Vogue Arabia's pages wearing Chaumet's Joséphine Collection. This cooperation is a result of M7's recent statement that it will be working with Maison Chaumet, a high-end jewellery brand in Paris, to develop a new Arabic logo. Chaumet chose local graphic designer Zainab AlShibani for this collaboration, closely collaborating with M7.
The project's goal was to create an Arabic brand mark that accurately captures Chaumet's character, heritage, and dedication to quality. AlShibani's design combines Latin and Arabic letterforms to symbolise tradition, innovation, and Chaumet's beauty. It was influenced by the Arabic phrase "حلية" ("Helyah"), which means "earring" or "ornamentation."
The importance of this partnership was highlighted by Al Sulaiti, who said, "M7's mission perfectly aligns with Chaumet's dedication to nurturing talents in the MENA region." She emphasised the possibilities of partnerships between local artists and international companies such as Chaumet. The Middle Eastern flagship boutiques of Chaumet will be adorned with the recently revealed Arabic logo.
