News EventsThe jovial mascots "Nahim," a playful whale shark from Qatar, and "Mayfara," a walking, talking, smiling coral of the World Aquatics Championships have been unveiled by Doha 2024. Nahim and Mayfara, who have a close connection to Qatar's past, stand for the World Aquatics Championships' inclusiveness and dedication to sustainability.
The whale shark, the largest fish in the world, may frequently be spotted in the protected seas around Qatar. Nahim, a witty, amiable, and enjoyable figure who will be there to amuse the masses and make sure everyone feels welcome in Doha, is a gentle giant.
Mayfara, with a family of clownfish residing in her fringe anemone and a relaxed starfish on her forehead, depicts the vibrancy and diversity of the coral environment. Mayfara is a fantastic team player who will spread the word about the value of preserving our seas and contribute to the success of the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha.
The three sites for the 2024 World Aquatics Championships which will take place in Doha from February 2–18, 2024, are the Aspire Dome, the Old Doha Port, and the Hamad Aquatics Centre.
