The "Doha Days" painting exhibition debuted on Tuesday at Mondrian Doha, bringing the lively and alluring city of Doha to life on canvas.
Simon Mortimer, a visual artist and current Artist in Residence at the Fire Station, created 13 pieces of art that pay homage to the captivating essence of daily life in Doha. These pieces capture the city's vibrant spirit and rich culture, as well as more commonplace items like street signs and trash cans.
For several years, even before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fire Station and Mondrian Doha collaborated on a cultural effort aimed at boosting Qatar’s diverse art scene, according to Al Obaidly.
Public access to "Doha Days" is available from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily at the hotel's Frozen Forest until May 31. The Fire Station, Mondrian Doha, and Qatar Museums are working together to put on the event.
