Draft decision of granting residence permits to individuals without a recruiter to certain categories was approved by Qatar cabinet

A preliminary decision about providing residency permits to people without a recruiter to specific categories was agreed during the normal meeting of the Cabinet on Wednesday, which was presided over by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the prime minister of Qatar and minister of foreign affairs.

The Cabinet discussed a number of the agenda items at the meeting in the Amiri Diwan. The Cabinet was informed that a draught bill that would change some sections of the Trade bill, which was enacted by Law No. 27 of 2006, had been approved by the Shura Council.

The Cabinet took the required actions to approve: 

  • An agreement between Qatar and the Kyrgyz Republic to cooperate in the sphere of sports.
  • A veterinary medical cooperation agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and Qatar.
  • An agreement between Tajikistan and Qatar for youth collaboration.
  • An accord between El Salvador and Qatar about legal cooperation.
  • An agreement between Nepal and Qatar for legal cooperation.

A draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for higher education collaboration between Qatar and Cyprus was also authorised by the cabinet.

The following subjects were examined by the Cabinet, and suitable decisions were made: 

  • The 2022 annual report outlines the outcomes of the Competition Protection and Antimonopoly Committee's efforts.
  • Two reports on the outcomes of the sixth session of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security's General Assembly and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation's ninth ministerial conference (OIC) (IOFS).
  • A summary of the outcomes from the Joint Higher Committee between Kazakhstan and Qatar's sixth session.
  • A report detailing the outcomes of the Environment and Climate Change Minister's visit to Algeria.
