EAA will offer 500 scholarships to Qatari expatriate youth from low-income families

NewsBy the school year 2025–2026, the Education Above All Foundation (EAA) will offer 500 scholarships to Qatari expatriate youth from low-income families.
The recipients will be able to complete their degrees at nine institutions in Qatar thanks to the EAA's Qatar Scholarship Program.
EAA and the General Directorate of Endowments (Awqaf) honoured graduates and new Qatar Scholarship Program recipients during a festive Iftar gathering.
"Qatar is a charitable nation. Students from Yemen are involved in the project. And we are grateful that Yemenis are being hosted here by Qatar. The greatest investment is in human capital, and investing in people is investing in the future, according to Yemen's Minister of Education, Tariq Al Akbari. Wishing the students involved in the initiative a bright future and the capacity to take advantage of chances while participating in educational, social, and cultural activities was his final wish.
The president of the University of Doha for Science and Technology, Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Naemi, the director general of the General Directorate of Endowments, Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Thani, the CEO of EAA, Fahad Al Sulaiti, and representatives from partner organizations, universities, and embassies were also present at the event, which was held at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
At the ceremony, 18 graduates were honored, 25 students were recognised for their outstanding scholastic achievement for the 2022–2023 school year, and 39 new scholarship recipients were welcomed.
The Qatar Scholarship Program of the EAA seeks to give young people between the ages of 17 and 25 who spent the majority of their formative years in Qatar access to higher education. The Program is a needs-based scholarship provided by EAA to deserving expatriate students in Qatar through its Al Fakhoora programme. Recipients are given assistance so they can finish their education at Qatari universities like Qatar University, Al Rayyan International University College, UDST, and University of Calgary.
This year, the EAA's Qatar Scholarship Program also establishes new collaborations with the Qatar Foundation's partner institutions as well as Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Oryx University in partnership with Liverpool, Lusail University, Global Studies Institute, and a few others. To connect grads with jobs, EAA collaborates with Silatech.

This ceremony highlights this dedication and reaffirms our Qatar Scholarship Program's pledge to supporting Qatar's future leaders and social innovators. According to Talal Al Hothal, the programme's director, "We appreciate Awqaf for their support in making this possible and for giving deserving youth chances to pursue fulfilling careers and support and strengthen their communities.
The Qatar Scholarship Programme in Qatar has given more than 160 student scholarships since it began in 2018.
The Endowment Account for Scientific and Cultural Development in the General Department of Endowments - Awqaf helps to fund the initiative, which is carried out by EAA.
