NewsThe eighth Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) has been announced by the Earthna Centre for a Sustainable Future, a subsidiary of the Qatar Foundation. The nationwide campaign, which runs from November 4 to November 11, is expected to draw the broadest participation and number of activities ever. The Qatar Sustainability Week is a chance to bring together decision-makers, activists, employees, and college and high school students to support Qatar's transition to a more sustainable future.
The initiative is a part of Earthna's local advocacy efforts to encourage Qataris to adopt ecologically responsible habits and serve as local ambassadors and sustainability champions. Earthna promotes Qatar's goal for sustainability and assists in turning it into practical effect by providing a forum for discussion and facilitating concrete activities. Qatar Sustainability Week saw 500,000 attendees, 1700 activities, and 1,110 partners over the course of seven years, from 2016 to 2022.
A movement for change may be started by people banding together and taking action. On its website, Earthna invited people and organisations to participate in the Qatar Sustainability Week, saying, "People and companies can match power and enthusiasm with action to make a difference.
Organisations may sign up to collaborate with Qatar Sustainability Week and register their sustainability initiatives, activities, and events to be included on the website. Individual participants can take part in a variety of free activities, go to events that advance their understanding of sustainability, and compete.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Expo 2023, UDC, Katara Hospitality, Kahramaa, Qatar Rail, Msheireb Properties, and British Council are partners in the Qatar Sustainability Week.
