NewsIn collaboration with the Fire Station: Artist in Residence of the Qatar Museums, the Family Consulting Centre (Wifaq), one of the centres of the Qatar Social Work Foundation, which is connected to the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), initiated the "Al Malath" artistic awareness initiative. According to Wifaq, "Al Malath" employs creative techniques to educate society about the value of maintaining family unity and the impact divorce has on families, particularly on children. This is accomplished through a series of seminars and gatherings.
Through their partnership with Fire Station: Artist in Residence, Wifaq encourages artists to raise awareness of the issue in the community by creating works that represent their understanding of it and how it affects families and society. This leads to the creation of meaningful and creative work that benefits the target audience and society at large while promoting family unity.
The "Al Malath" programme also seeks to highlight the need of addressing divorce constructively and caring for children after a divorce in order to lessen the detrimental impacts of divorce on parents and children in society. As a result of this project, Wifaq plans to open an exhibition to serve as a symbol of a secure and thought-provoking environment that unites artists and allows them to share their emotions and experiences while considering the value of family unity in society.
