The players at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar will be able to learn more about their on-field performance through the FIFA Player App. Together with FIFPRO, the world's leading representative of professional footballers, FIFA created the FIFA Player App with input from professional players. The FIFA Player App will be utilized for the first time at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar,
Players are particularly interested in their performance data and want to have easy access to it, according to the study and interviews that were performed. Soon after each game, each player will have access to their unique player-performance statistics via the FIFA Player App.
The information gathered comprises improved football data metrics, which are derived from enhanced event data and integrated with monitoring data by a group of highly qualified FIFA football performance experts. Both enhanced football intelligence metrics and physical performance metrics were developed by the FIFA Football Performance Analysis & Insights team through the development of several algorithms and models that operate live to integrate event and tracking data. The physical performance metrics were collected through a highly accurate in-stadium tracking system consisting of multiple cameras placed around the pitch for maximum player coverage. Moreover, each player will have access to several action photos captured at significant moments of every FIFA World Cup game.
Users will be able to download or share the images along with their preferred match statistics directly from the app.When they arrive in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup, players will be allowed to use the FIFA Player App.During the recent Team Workshop in Doha, the FIFA Player App was introduced to the FIFA World Cup participating teams after being successfully tested out by players from various teams during the FIFA Arab Cup 2021.
