NewsThe community is invited to attend a demo week being held by the Ministry of Transport and Mowasalat (Karwa) to witness the first-ever self-driving electric bus (E-Bus) in Qatar. The event demonstrates Qatar's dedication to environmental protection, safety, and innovation in the transportation industry.
The autonomous E-Bus will be available to the public until February 22, 2024, with daily operations from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The path at Qatar Foundation's Education City is a circle that is intended to make nine deliberate pauses between Northwestern University in Qatar and the Qatar National Library Metro Station.
It enables guests to get on and off at their convenience to see the main sights in the region. An expert has been assigned to respond to inquiries about technical specifics and the ways that transportation might reduce carbon emissions will be stationed aboard the bus.
An important advancement in the fusion of technology and environmental responsibility is the driverless E-Bus. Because it runs on pure electric energy, this bus produces no emissions and helps Qatar achieve its sustainable development goals. With its cutting-edge onboard sensors, high-definition cameras, lasers, and ultrasonic radars, the E-Bus is expected to set new standards for efficiency and safety in transportation.
During the demo week, college and university students can be involved in igniting grassroots community participation. It will be followed by more collaborative efforts aimed at moulding a more ecologically responsible everyday mobility strategy.
