‘Forum of Organizations from Local to Global’ kicks off in Darb Al Saai

News Darb Al SaaiThe Ministry of Culture organised a two-day “Forum of Organizations from Local to Global”, event as part of the Darb Al Saai activities held under the slogan “Our Unity is the Source of Our Strength”. The event commenced on Monday evening. Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the National Day celebrations, H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, attended the forum along with a large number of guests of the Ministry of Culture, and Darb Al Saai audience.
Director of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Culture Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi moderated the forum, which was attended by Acting Secretary-General of the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science H E Ali Abdul Razzaq Marafie, and Director of the Department of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities in the Secretariat General of Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Dr. Saad bin Mohamed Al Zughaibi, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) H E Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, and Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) H E Dr. Salim bin Mohammed Al Malik.
Representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) in the Arab Gulf States and Yemen and Director of the Unesco Office in Doha, Salah El Din Zaki Khaled, and Program Specialist in the Cultural Sector at the Unesco Doha Office Rasul Samadov also participated in the forum.
Ali Abdul Razzaq Marafie gave an introduction to the objectives and tasks of the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, which was established on Feb. 25, 1962, to contribute to achieving the goals of international organisations in line with the goals of education in Qatar and its objectives through implementing many programmes, projects and activities in various fields, in cooperation and coordination with national, regional and international partners to promote citizenship, human rights, justice, and human dignity.
He added that the commission seeks to make the membership of Qatar in international, regional, and Arab organisations a successful investment that benefits all aspects of educational, scientific, and cultural activity in the country and contribution to the national development process in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
He explained that the commission provides support to the competent agencies in the country to meet the needs of the ministries and institutions concerned in the country regarding the activities and programmes of organisations related to education, culture, and science.
