The General Authority of Customs has honoured the Department of Wildlife Development at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), for being the fastest government agency in issuing documents required for customs clearance in 2022.
Minister of Finance H E Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari presented a certificate of appreciation to Director of the Wildlife Development Department Mohamed Ahmed Al Khanji for the department’s efforts in speedy completion of audit and review requests, and issuing documents required for customs declarations.
These documents are sent directly or while submitting the declaration through Al Nadeeb portal.
The honouring ceremony was held on the occasion of International Customs Day, under the slogan “Promoting a culture of knowledge exchange and professional pride in customs”.
The event was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Protection and Natural Reserves Affairs at MoECC Dr. Ibrahim Abdullatif Al Maslamani and Chairman of the General Authority of Customs (GAC) H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal.
Wildlife Development Department is working through the CITES office of the Department of Wildlife to implement Law No. (5) of 2006 regulating trade in species of endangered wild organisms and their products, and it has offices in all ports of the country.
