General Directorate of Traffic announced an integrated traffic plan for the new academic year 2024-2025

In an ongoing effort to lower traffic accidents and provide a safe driving environment, the General Directorate of Traffic released an integrated traffic strategy for the upcoming academic year 2024–2025.

In order to ensure the safety of students and all road users, Traffic Media Officer at the General Directorate of Traffic Lt. Abdulmohsin Al Asmar Al Ruwaili explained that the plan aims to facilitate vehicle movement and reduce traffic congestion on main roads, around schools, and the roads leading to them. This will be accomplished by increasing patrols and traffic police, particularly at intersections and around schools that experience traffic congestion.

In addition, he said, road traffic is also kept an eye on by the (Tala'a) cameras, which broadcast a real-time picture of vehicle movement and enable traffic police to act swiftly in an emergency.

Lt. Al Ruwaili emphasised that the General Directorate of Traffic has worked to update its fleet of patrol cars and motorcycles by adding more of them and implementing the newest technologies that improve traffic monitoring, surveillance, and control. This is done in order to keep up with the growing volume of traffic and technological advancements.

He gave drivers advice on how to protect the safety of pupils on the road, including following all traffic rules and regulations and driving carefully. Additionally, he urged school safety authorities, drivers of school buses, and drivers of any vehicles carrying kids to follow the required safety protocols.
