General Directorate of Traffic has extended the grace period to regularise status regarding public driving licences

The grace period for businesses and organizations to regularize their status with relation to public driving licenses for drivers of taxis, limousines, buses, and public transportation vehicles has been extended by the General Directorate of Traffic.  The Ministry of Interior (MoI) made the announcement on Wednesday. As stated in a post on X by MoI, the 90-day extension commenced on 11th September. 

The General Directorate of Traffic announced on September 1st that all cars, including those of citizens, residents, and visitors, as well as citizens and residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, would now be eligible for a 50% discount on the fine for traffic violations.

The extension will take effect on September 1 and run through November 30, 2024.

For infractions over a maximum of three years, the discount is applicable.
