Government and private entities in Qatar marked the World Day for Safety and Health at Work yesterday

To promote safe, healthy, and suitable working conditions, government and commercial organisations in Qatar observed World Day for Safety and Health at Work yesterday. 

The Primary Health Care Corporation emphasised the significance of workplace safety and health as an essential concept and a basic right of employees, highlighting this year's theme, "A safe and healthy work environment; a fundamental right." This conference's main goal is to examine doable implementation strategies for this basic human right in workplaces throughout the world.

In a social media post, Mowasalat (Karwa) claimed that "training drivers in the aspects of defensive driving, firefighting, emergency response, and safe handling of E-vehicles enables us to create and sustain a safer workplace."Today, on the International Day for Safety and Health at Work, we affirm our dedication to workplace safety.

The International Labour Conference (ILC) made the decision to add "a safe and healthy working environment" to the International Labour Organization's (ILO) framework of fundamental principles and rights at work in June 2022.

This year, the ILO is commemorating this judgement by bringing together experts and stakeholders to talk about what it means for the workplace and how to really put this right into practise.

The ILO Director-General, Gilbert F. Houngbo, stated in a statement to commemorate World Day for Safety and Health at Work, "This year, on World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we can celebrate a significant step towards this aim. the recognition of a safe and healthy working environment as a basic value and labor-related right.
