H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani announced a $1bn fund to foster local and regional entrepreneurs

During the opening of the Web Summit Qatar 2024 yesterday, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani announced a $1 billion fund to support local and regional businesses. 

The first Web Summit Qatar 2024 has brought together thousands of global digital executives, investors, entrepreneurs, and specialists at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC). Over the course of four days, the largest annual technology conference—which is being held for the first time in the region—will showcase the newest innovations and technological trends while providing a platform for worldwide delegates to network and collaborate.

The Web Summit Qatar offers a fresh opportunity to expand the region's rapidly expanding digital scene. here will be around 380 speakers, 400 investors, and trade delegations at the event. When the Web Summit 2024 opened, one of the main draws was the appearance of well-known comedian, presenter, author, and podcaster Trevor Noah on stage.
