NewsA comprehensive emergency drill is scheduled to take place at Hamad International Airport tomorrow, January 8, 2024. Hamad International Airport (DOH), on January 8, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m., will host the sixth full-scale emergency drill by MATAR, the Qatar Company for Airports Operation and Management.
"The simulation, is part of MATAR’s commitment to ensure the highest level of preparedness in the event of an incident, while safeguarding the wellbeing of staff and passengers," HIA said in a travel advisory update.
Airport operations won't be impacted by the drill because it will take place in the passenger terminal and the airside manoeuvring area. According to the travel notice, there will also be an accident and an aeroplane distress landing during the emergency drill.
The Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defence, National Command Centre, Ministry of Transport and Communications, State Security Bureau, Qatar Emiri Air Force, Qatar Air Accident Investigation, Qatar Red Crescent Society - Emergency Medical Services, Qatar Disaster Victim Identification Team, and Qatar Civil Aviation Authority are among the partners and stakeholders with whom the full-scale emergency drill will be coordinated.
