NewsThe Eid Al Adha festival, which will take place from June 15 to July 10, 2023, is expected to witness significant departure and arrival passenger volumes, hence Hamad International Airport has issued a travel advise to provide a flawless travel experience for travellers.
It further stated that from June 15 to June 30, short-term parking at Hamad International Airport would be free for the first 60 minutes for all travellers. The usual parking costs will take effect after 60 minutes.
From July 6 through July 10, the free 60-minute parking at the short-term vehicle will be reintroduced between the hours of 5am and 8am, 5pm and 7pm, and 10:30pm and 2:30am. The usual parking costs will take effect after 60 minutes.
For pick-up and drop-off, it urged drivers to utilise the short-term parking lot, and it cautioned them against leaving their own automobiles on the curbside unattended. Travellers arriving and departing may also take one of the many public transportation alternatives, including taxis, buses, and the metro.
Unless otherwise advised by their specific airline, the airport advised travellers to arrive three hours before their flight's scheduled departure time. From June 15 to June 30, travellers travelling with Qatar Airways to a variety of locations—aside from the United States and Canada—have the option of checking in early starting at least 12 hours before departure and up to 4 hours before takeoff by going to row 11 at the Vertical Circulation Node (VCN).
Passengers on Qatar Airways flying for the Hajj can check in separately in row 6. No more than one container of 5 litres of Zamzam water should be brought by each arriving traveller from the Hajj pilgrimage, unless specifically instructed otherwise by their individual airline.
The self-service check-in and bag-drop options are also available at Hamad International Airport, allowing travellers to check-in, print boarding tickets and bag tags, label their baggage, and drop them off at the bag drop quickly before heading to immigration. At the airport, there are also facilities for bag wrapping.
The airport's e-gate services are available to passengers over the age of 18 with a valid passport. Passengers are advised that check-in ends 60 minutes before departure and that boarding gates close 20 minutes before departure.
Passengers are asked to make sure they are not carrying any forbidden goods during security checks, such as liquids, aerosols, or gels. They are also asked to put any liquid containers in transparent, resealable plastic bags with each one holding 100ml or less of liquid. Larger electronics than cell phones must be taken out of luggage and put in trays for X-ray screening. Hoverboards and other small lithium-battery-powered vehicles are not allowed to be transported.
