Hamad International Airport reports serving 13.7 million passengers in the third quarter of 2024

NewsIn the third quarter (Q3) of 2024, Hamad International Airport (DOH) reported handling 13.7 million passengers, a strong 7.9% increase over the same time the previous year. Additionally, point-to-point traffic increased by 11.7%, which improved the airport's overall performance.
Strong demand for air travel drove the increase in passenger traffic; July was the biggest month ever for the airport, with 4,742,068 passengers handled, followed by 4,717,885 in August and 4,246,742 in September.
In Q3 2024, there were 71,425 aircraft movements at Hamad International Airport, a 6.2% increase over the same period the year before.
This comprised 22,917 landings and takeoffs in September, 24,329 in August, and 24,179 in July. This impressive performance demonstrates the airport's developing status as a significant international aviation centre, managing rising air traffic volumes with accuracy and efficiency.
Compared to Q3 2023, Hamad International Airport handled 670,643 tonnes of cargo in Q3 2024, a 13.5% increase. With 221,398 tonnes processed in July, 219,525 tonnes in August, and 229,719 tonnes in September, the cargo handled remained constant throughout the quarter.
This expansion strengthens the airport's standing as a major regional freight centre, facilitating international supply chains and trade. Furthermore, in Q3 2024, Hamad International Airport processed over 11 million bags, an 8.9 percent increase over the same quarter the previous year.
