The Public Parks Department, on behalf of the Ministry of Municipality, officially opened Hazm Al Markhiya Park, on Thursday, as part of its endeavors to enhance the quality of life and provide a long-lasting and healthful environment for residents and citizens.
The park spans 24,000 square meters, of which 14,500 square meters, or 60% of the total area, are devoted to cultivated green areas. It also has 421 shrubs and 273 native trees, which contribute significantly to the improvement of air quality and the promotion of plant biodiversity.
The park has a dedicated 585-meter walking path, a 671-meter jogging track, and an outdoor fitness facility that is 85 square meters in size for physical activity.
A 687-meter bicycle route with a 454-square-meter children's play area and sections for kids under five and six to twelve years old with the highest safety and recreational standards is also available to provide a safe atmosphere for fans of this sport.
With amenities including seats, restrooms, and forty-four parking spots, the park is easily accessible and a great place for both people and families. The park uses eco-friendly lighting to promote environmental sustainability.
