HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani laid the foundation stone for the North Field Expansion Project in Ras Laffan Industrial City

HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday, laid the foundation stone the North Field Expansion Project in Ras Laffan Industrial City. During the event, a documentary video depicting the several stages of construction of the North Field Expansion Project was presented. The project is intended to help enhance Qatar's annual liquefied natural gas production capacity from 77 million tonnes to 126 million tonnes by 2026. This will also strengthen Qatar's position as the world's leading producer of liquefied natural gas.

HE Eng Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Qatar's Minister of State for Energy Affairs, also gave a speech during the event.

HH The Amir toured the project after the ceremony and heard about the project's goals, sustainable growth, and ability to fulfil local and international demand for liquefied natural gas and its derivatives. A number of ministers, CEOs, and senior executives from QatarEnergy and its expansion partners were present during the occasion.
