HIA has emerged as one of the most significant airports in the world to introduce modern technologies

One of the major airports in the globe to implement contemporary technology is Hamad International Airport (HIA). In 2022, the airport formally introduced the "Digital Twin" idea as a component of its smart airport strategy.

According to a recent article in Sky Magazine, the airport sector is experiencing a surge in understanding regarding the use of sophisticated technology in enhancing travel, with Qatar's HIA being among the fewest airports worldwide to utilise Digital Twin technology.

Throughout the years, the award-winning airport has been instrumental in supporting and strengthening critical operating processes and enhancing efficiency, such as lowering asset downtime by making efficient use of the appropriate data at the appropriate moment.

The journal went on to say that by enhancing its operational functions—which encompass several partners, assets, and activities—HIA will have many potential to advance.

In order to facilitate informed and efficient decision-making and usher in a new era of efficiency in the airport sector, HIA, in partnership with SITA, began operations to open doors for this purpose. They anticipated shaping the future of the airport sector, driving solutions to long-term challenges, improving the decision-making process, and simplifying analysis and complex data through the seamless integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
