The Department of Ophthalmology at the Ambulatory Care Center, part of the Hamad Medical Corporation, has introduced 20 new weekly clinics as part of its commitment to providing timely care to patients.
“By adding 21 new clinics per week, we have increased the number of patients visiting our clinics by more than 20% per week. We saw an average of 1,130 patients per week before the new clinics; now we see more than 1,370 patients per week,” says Dr. Omar Al Qahtani, Head of Ophthalmology.
the clinic timing was also changed by starting 30 minutes earlier than before thus increasing the outpatient slots given to patients. In addition, he says evening ophthalmology diagnostic clinics will be extended to help minimize the patient waiting and maintain a steady flow of patients in the clinic in a timely manner.
