Hundreds of women from across the country participated in the ladies-only Golden Race on the International Women’s Day

On March 8, International Women's Day, hundreds of women from all around the nation competed in the ladies-only Golden Race at Al Shaqab in Education City, Qatar Foundation. The event, which was hosted by Athletic Edge, offered two distances: 1 km for kids and 5 km for adults. 

The founder of Athletic Edge, Rabaah Al-Musleh, a graduate of HEC Paris – a Qatar Foundation (QF) partner university conveyed that organising a ladies-only run is crucial for the neighbourhood. "A lot of women would like to take part in these kinds of activities, but many are uncomfortable doing so. However, the Golden Race has allowed them to work out in private with other ladies who share their values.

Al-Musleh continued, "QF has been very supportive in hosting the event." The well-known Qatar Foundation is in favour of the nation's goal of having a healthy population and believes that more women should have more influence.
