The first "Doha Photography Festival" was inaugurated on November 8, by Culture Minister HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani. The Ministry of Culture's Qatar Photography Center is organizing the event, which is part of the cultural season's events.
Eight multinational businesses that specialize in photography cameras will be taking part, and it will run until November 13.
Minister of Labor HE Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri, Minister of Social Development and Family HE Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Chairman of the Qatar Press Center Saad bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, and Secretary-General of the Qatar National Archives Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Buainain attended the festival's opening, which takes place across from Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal.
Along with a main theater where international photographers give talks and seminars, the festival also features workshops and interactive platforms for the general public, as well as a number of individual and group exhibitions of vintage photographs and cameras.
