International Horticultural Exhibition Expo 2023 Doha Qatar; over 80 percent of development work has been completed

According to a top official, more than 80% of the development work for the International Horticultural Exhibition Expo 2023 Doha Qatar has been finished.

To accommodate Expo 2023 Doha, a sizable facility measuring 1,700,000 sqm is being built at Al Bidda Park in the centre of Doha.

Over 80 countries are expected to participate in the six-month event, which is set to run from October 2, 2023, to March 28, 2024. More than 3 million people are expected to attend.

"A building for Expo 2023 Doha is being built by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). According to Eng Fatima Al Abd Al Malik, project manager for Expo 2023 Doha at Ashghal, the facility is 80 percent finished.

She claims that the Expo facility is utilising two different greenery technologies: the first is the MSE wall, or surrounding area, and the second is the hydroponic structure. An MSE retaining wall is a composite structure made up of alternating layers of compacted backfill and soil reinforcement materials that are attached to a wall facing.

According to Al Malik, "These two technologies will aid us in rationalising water consumption for the greenery by lowering the temperature."

According to her, Ashghal is also creating pavilions for all of the participating nations as well as one for Qatar, one for the Netherlands, and one for VIPs for Expo 2023 Doha.

Al Malik stated that the Expo House structure will be 12 metres tall and have a ground floor as well as two further stories.

In a recent presentation, Mohammed Ali Al Khouri, secretary general of the National Committee for hosting Expo 2023 Doha, stated: "The Ministry of Municipality will organise the International Horticultural Exhibition Expo 2023 Doha Qatar from October 2, 2023 to March 28, 2024."

He claimed that Qatar, GCC states, and other arid nations would benefit from this big international horticulture event, the first of its kind in the MENA area.

"During the expo, a variety of research projects to stop desertification will be on display.

"Green Desert, Better Environment" is the subject of Expo 2023 Doha, and it intends to educate and excite visitors and the global community about creative ways to slow down desertification, according to Al Khouri.

Expo 2023 Doha will unveil cutting-edge methods and remedies to support the agricultural industry and stop desertification as a means of addressing climate change.

Techniques that allow for the sustainable development of trees and crops in dry areas are crucial in reversing the global desertification trend.
