The "Whispers of the Soul" exhibition, curated by writer Dr. Ahmed Abdulmalek and visual artist Maryam AlMulla, was just launched by the Cultural Village Foundation in Katara. The exhibit may be found in Hall 2 of Building 18.
A select group of artists, intellectuals, and media professionals attended the opening, along with H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari, Minister of State and President of the Qatar National Library, and Saif Saad Al Dosari, Deputy Director-General of Katara and Director of Human Resources.
This exhibition is the first of its kind in Qatar and features a duet that blends visual art and very short stories in a beautiful and innovative marriage rich in symbolism, expression, and inspiration. Twenty-two of the short stories were selected from the 2012 book by media writer Dr. Abdulmalek, and visual artist AlMulla uses her graceful brushstrokes to bring the stories to life on paintings that explore the innermost recesses of the human psyche and convey the spirit and intentions of the stories.
Dr Abdulmalek thanked Katara for its new initiatives that will help raise the standard of artistic cultural appreciation and noted that the exhibition opens up new avenues for greater cohesion between culture and the audience of fine art and short story enthusiasts. supplying fresh, imaginative concepts to the benevolent public.
