Katara Ramadan Chess Open 2024 will kick off on Thursday at the Katara Multi-Purpose Hall

The Katara Ramadan Chess Open 2024 (classic) will cmence on Thursday at the Katara Multi-Purpose Hall. The tournament, which is being hosted by the Qatar Chess Association, is attended by 86 male and female players from 16 different nations.

The event, which runs until March 23, features a number of players from the Qatari national squad in all age levels. A total of QR25,000 in prizes are up for grabs. 

Executive Director of the Qatar Chess Association Hamad Al Tamimi said in an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the tournament will provide top international players with wonderful experiences. 

Al Tamimi praised Katara for their yearly efforts to host the competition and stated that the Association is forward to continue working with Katara.
