The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, will host a symposium tonight at 9:30pm called "Qatari Theatre - Between Reality and Aspiration" as part of its Ramadan programme and in honour of the International Day of Theatre. The symposium will be held at the Drama Theater in Building 16.
The symposium's participants are Dr. Hassan Rashid, Hamad Al Rumaihi, and Jassim Ahmed Al Ansari.
Additionally, Katara has issued a general call to the general public to go to and watch the performance of "Gypsies of the Sea" at 8:30 p.m. in Drama Theater Building 16. The fact that this play has received numerous awards, the most recent of which was given out at the fourth Sharjah Gulf Theater Festival in February, is noteworthy.
The play, which was written by Talib Al Dous, directed by Nasser Abdel Ridha, and featured Faisal Rashid, Ahmed Aklan, Nasser Habib, Muhammad Al Mulla, Munther Thani, and Rawan Halawi, is also regarded as one of the greatest works of the Qatar Theatrical Ensemble. On the other hand, Katara will launch the exhibition "And to Parents in Kindness" today at 9 p.m. in Building 18. A number of artists will be presenting their works that were inspired by the subject of honouring parents. There are many different events, activities, and contests in the Katara Ramadan programme.
