Lusail officially designated as the Capital of Culture in the Islamic world for the year 2030

According to official designation, Lusail will serve as the Islamic world's cultural capital in 2030. The Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) and the State of Qatar sponsored the 12th summit of Islamic world culture ministers, where the city was chosen. 

Shusha in the Republic of Azerbaijan will serve as the first Capital of Culture in the Islamic world in 2024, followed by Samarkand in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2025, Hebron in Palestine in 2026, and Abidjan in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire in 2026, according to a list of six cities chosen by ISESCO.
