The seventh edition of the Crop Festival, commonly known as the Mahaseel Festival, will be opened on January 19, at the southern side of Katara, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality by the The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara. The Mahaseel Festival will see participation by 28 local farms, six national companies specialising in poultry, meat and dairy, two companies for dates and honey, and eight nurseries, as well as shops selling popular food.
The festival will run daily until January 28, while the market will continue after that every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until the end of March, from 9am to 9pm. Salman Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Festival, said the event has proven its importance in supporting and promoting Qatari agricultural and food products of highest quality standards. He added that this year, activities such as technical workshops will also be held like the previous editions. The organisers said the festival is aimed to highlight the importance of the diverse and growing agricultural and food products, and contribute to the marketing of the products of Qatari farms that have achieved their wide fame and good reputation at competitive prices.
